Another quick n dirty one (like eye gouging your opponent in MMA?)
Pugh’s Place was a short-lived band from the Netherlands
As dose readers know, I’m partial to early 70s European heavy prog
And this fits the bill
They put out one studio album in 71, entitled West One
After the area in London’s West End where Pugh’s Place was located
I’m not exactly sure what Pugh’s Place was
A pub, perchance?
They toured Holland and released a live album in 72
That was it for them, though
Both albums are fairly scarce these days, and West One can fetch big sums:
So apparently someone agrees with me that this shit is good
Definitely not this dude, though:
I LOVE the cover of Drive My Car, which leads off the LP
Hey, different strokes
Also don’t know why every rock group featuring flute needs to be compared to Jethro Tull
Anyway, organ and guitar work here are dope, and the movements are well-delineated while still flowing coherently
As good prog should
Ashratom, I’m happy to take your copy!
